Rochester, N.Y. - A fire broke out in a second floor apartment on Monroe Ave. Thursday afternoon.

Someone at the gas station across the street called 911.

Contractors were working on the roof and firefighters believe their propane equipment sparked the fire.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire in about 20 minutes.

The apartments were damaged, but can still be lived in.

Traffic between Oxford and Goodman was blocked for more than an hour.
