Geneseo, N.Y. – A SUNY Geneseo volleyball player facing hazing charges says she will take her case to trial.

Sarah Dewey, 19, of Cooperstown, N.Y. withdrew her previous guilty plea offered by the Livingston County District Attorney’s Tuesday evening.

Dewey was allegedly involved in an underage drinking party where eight members of the SUNY Geneseo women’s volleyball team say they were blindfolded, handcuffed and forced to drink alcohol.

The 10 other girls charged accepted the plea and were sentenced to four days of community service and two speaking engagements where they will discuss the dangers of hazing to area youth.
