Geneva, N.Y. - A Waterloo man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a hit-and-run crash that killed a 77-year-old man.

Michael Foulkrod, 44, of Waterloo is accused of hitting Karl Peter Grune, of Geneva, with a vehicle, as Grune was walking on a sidewalk on Elm Street Saturday morning.

Police say it happened as Foulkrod was allegedly fleeing the scene of an attempted assault against a woman on South Main Street and Pulteney Park.

Police are crediting witnesses with helping them to track down Foulkrod.
