Rochester, N.Y. - The Senate confirmed Monroe County Court Judge Frank Geraci Jr. to a federal judgeship Thursday.

Geraci will serve as a federal district court judge in New York’s Western District.

He will fill a seat that has been vacant since 2009.

Geraci has experience as an assistant district attorney in the Monroe County District Attorney's Office, and as an assistant U.S. Attorney.

He served as a Rochester City Court Judge from 1991-1999, and has been a Monroe County Court Judge since 1998.
