Soldier From Fairport Found Dead In Alaska

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska  -- The U.S. Army says it is investigating the death of a Fairport graduate and Army private.

13WHAM News has learned from his family that Private First Class Grant Wise, 25, was found dead of a gunshot wound Christmas morning at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska.

An Army spokesperson said Wise was in the living quarters of a fellow soldier but has not said what led to his being shot.

There are no reports of any arrests.
