Rochester, N.Y. - The Chairman of the House Transporation and Infrastructure Committee was in Rochester Saturday.
Congressmen John Mica of Florida was in town to talk about the Screening Partnership Program, which allows security screenings at airports to be performed by qualified private companies under federal guidelines. The Greater Rochester International Airport is one of 16 airports with this program.
"When this airport was evaluated against all federal operations, the general accounting office said this operation performs significantly better statistically," said Mica.
Some GOP lawmakers like Mica have criticized the TSA for slowing down the process for all airports to adopt the program.
