Rochester, N.Y.- Tuesday was the hottest day so far this year for Rochester. And as of 2 p.m., we hit 96 degrees, setting a new high temperature record.
A cold front will move south from Canada late Tuesday evening and give WNY some relief from the heat. Some showers and thunder are possible through early Wednesday as the front moves through WNY.
It appears to be the best chance for an area-wide rain in some time. The low temperature overnight will stay uncomfortable--only reaching 70 or so.
Thunderstorms end Wednesday with cooler and less humid air returning to WNY.
The high will be in the low 80s. Thursday and Friday will both be sunny with highs in the low 80s.
