Torrance, CA - Honda is recalling about 50,000 2012 Civics in the United States because a driveshaft problem.
Honda will replace the left driveshaft because it may not have been properly installed, which may cause it to separate from the outer CV joint.
The automaker says if the driveshaft separates while in motion, the engine will no longer allow the car to keep moving.
The vehicle could also roll while parked if the parking brake is not set.
Honda says no crashes or injuries were reported.
Owners will be mailed a letter in late June about when to schedule an appointment.
