Honeoye, N.Y. – The Honeoye Board of Education is scheduled to discuss the sudden departure of two basketball coaches at a regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday night.

Varsity basketball coach Jim Parshall and JV coach Jordan Trowbridge left their positions abruptly following a recent incident on a bus ride home from a game.

Honeoye Central School District Superintendent David Bills called the activity on the bus hazing.

He then suspended several players, which, in turn, forced the varsity team to forfeit its remaining games.

Parents and players say the teens were giving each other wedgies - horspeplay, they said, that doesn't rise to the level of hazing.

Both Parshall and Trowbridge are no longer coaches in the district.

The Board of Ed agenda has the board discussing their departure on Wednesday night.

The meeting provides time for public comment at the start of the meeting.
