Anyone living on the immediate south shore of Lake Ontario should continue to monitor the situation closely Tuesday, but winds and waves will be decreasing.

On Tuesday, the winds with what is left of Sandy will turn from the northeast to the east southeast and remain between 20-40 mph with higher gusts.

Additional rain on Tuesday does not look to be a concern for flooding in WNY. Tuesday may reach 60° with gray skies.

It is expected that rain will continue off and on Wednesday through Friday, but the rain intensity will diminish as Sandy weakens, especially Thursday and Friday.

Overall, rain amounts from Sunday through Friday will likely range from 3-5” although some isolated higher amounts will be possible, especially south and west of Rochester.
