“The Odd Couple” Actor Dies

California – Jack Klugman, best known as the messy sports writer in TV’s “The Odd Couple,” died on Monday. 

Klugman passed away at his home in California with his wife, Peggy, at his side.

Klugman started out on Broadway, acting in “The Odd Couple,” before he teamed up with Tony Randall for the sitcom, which ran in the 1970s.

Klugman won two Emmys for his part in “The Odd Couple.”

Following "The Odd Couple," Klugman played the gruff medical examiner in "Quincy M.E."
