Chicago, Il. - Former Rochester School Superintendent Jean Claude Brizard will no longer head up the Chicago School District.
According to a spokesperson for Rahm Emanuel's office, the move was a "mutual agreement."
Brizard was appointed to the position just 17 months ago.
The mayor's office tells our sister station in Chicago that Brizard will be replaced by Barbara Byrd-Bennett, who has been Chicago's interim chief education officer for the past six months.
Mayor Emanuel will make the official announcement Friday.
