Rochester, N.Y -  Olympic Gold Medalist Jenn Suhr returns to her alma mater Friday night as part of her "Gold Medal Tour."

Suhr will participate in a pole vaulting competition in the stadium on campus. The Roberts community will celebrate her success with a firework display.

Suhr is known at Roberts Wesleyan as a standout athlete and holds the record for leading scorer in basketball. She graduated in 2004 with a psychology degree.

“Roberts Wesleyan is a place where I learned to achieve new heights, physically and metaphorically,” Suhr said. “The support of this community was invaluable as I pursued my goals.  I look forward to sharing this victory with all of Rochester right here on campus.”

Roberts Wesleyan President John A. Martin said “Her presence is a wonderful addition to a momentous and exciting homecoming weekend. This event promises to be a fun-filled, special experience for all who attend.”

The event is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are available at all Rochester area Wegmans. Stadium seating is limited, so it is recommended to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
