Rochester, N.Y.- A Rochester woman who admitted to hitting a pedestrian while driving drunk and texting was sentenced in court Tuesday.
Kashia Houston received 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison.
She hit Sherry Argo on Thurston Road back in November 2011 as Argo was getting out of her parked car.
Police say Houston left the scene of the crash and was found a short time later after a witness caught the plate number and gave it to authorities.
Argo suffered extensive injuries including blunt trauma to her torso and a broken leg.
As part of her sentence, Houston’s driver’s license was revoked for one year upon her release from custody and will also be required to install an ignition interlock on her vehicle.
