Rochester, N.Y. -- Kodak currently has about 7,000 employees in Rochester.

Workers who spoke to 13WHAM Thursday were optimistic about the company's future.

Many say the writing was on the wall. Kodak's financial state has been in the news for a while, but employees say news of the bankruptcy filing
was a signifcant blow.

"Couldn't be any sadder. Could not be any sadder, with 33 years with Kodak it's heartbreaking, it really is. You kind of saw it coming but when it hits, it's sad," said Jack Wade.

Jay Zwitzer said, "I've been here for 15 years. It's depressing, more because there's such a part of the community and has been for over 100 years… it's kind of like watching your favorite football team lose in the playoffs."

While this is a difficult time for Kodak, one person told 13WHAM Kodak is made of a group of strong individuals. They remain behind the company and believe Kodak
will make it through.
