Perinton, N.Y. -- Monday evening, a group gathered at the Korean War Veterans Memorial at White Haven Memorial Park to mark the 62nd anniversary of the start of the Korean War.

Assemblyman Mark Johns and (R- Webster) and Terri Robach, mother of Sen. Joe Robach (R- Greece) laid a wreath at the memorial. Mrs. Robach's late husband was a Korean War veteran.

The memorial is dedicated to the 165 men from Monroe County who fought and died in the war.

Monroe County Chapter 1 has been holding a commemoration ceremony at White Haven every year since 1992.
