Rochester, N.Y. – 9,000 people showed up to support and raise money for breast cancer in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Sunday morning.

Fran's Voice, a group of 25 family members and friends, have raised $100,000 for the American Cancer Society and the Making Strides Walk since 2002, and all took place in the walk.

Another walker on Saturday was Dino Rizzo, who walked for his mother.  Rizzo says his mother, who died from breast cancer in 2005, started walking in the Making Strides Walk in 2002 when she was diagnosed.

Another participant in the walk, Katie Greene, says that she hopes that “Funding and awareness for cancer research and support for those suffering from cancer and having to live with it in their daily lives” comes out of doing this walk.
