Rochester, N.Y. – A Rochester man accused of sexually abusing two young girls pleaded guilty to the charges Tuesday.
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley said Ramon Laureano-Burgos, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree criminal sex acts and one count of first-degree sexual abuse.
Authorities said last June, Laureano-Burgos lured a 10 year old girl into his residence on Bartlett Street and sexually abused her.
Following the incident, the young girl went for help and called 911.
Laureano-Burgos was later apprehended at a local motel.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the defendant had also abused another young girl.
In a statement released Tuesday, Doorley said, “The poise that this child maintained following such a horrible incident was simply amazing, and most importantly, her actions have ensured that a sexual predator will no longer be able to harm the most vulnerable members of our community again. She demonstrated courage and maturity beyond her years, and we owe her debt of gratitude.”
When he is sentenced next month, Laureano-Burgos will be sentenced to 10 years in prison with 15 years post release supervision. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
