Retired RPD Captain Charged With Murder In Son's Death
Another officer states that Leach also said, "I went to sleep about a couple of hours ago and I woke to something and saw a dark figure out the door. I yelled and discharged my weapon."
The officer states that Leach later said, "I killed my son, I killed my own son." Followed by, "This can't be happening this can't be happening...Oh my god just kill me now."
Leach appeared to end his discussions with police at the scene by saying, "It's too late I already said too much. It doesn't matter anyway my son is dead."
Michael Leach is a retired RPD Captain and part-time Perry Police Officer in Wyoming County. Michael Leach's brother is an RPD Captain and his father was former RPD Chief Delmar Leach.
Matthew Leach worked for RDG Security at a number of popular nightspots in Rochester's East End. He married his wife two years ago.
Leach grew up a standout athlete and wrestler. He later turned his passion for wrestling into a desire to coach at Greece Athena, Pittsford, and Brockport in recent years.
