Rochester, N.Y. -- Demolition at the Midtown site is complete and now crews are ready to begin construction.
On Monday, crews will start Phase One, which involves creating the streets and infrastructure necessary to redevelopment, as well as reconstruction
of the underground service tunnel.
Crane-Hogan Structural Systems, Inc. will undertake this phase of the project and will hire as many as 50 workers.
Phase One is expected to be complete in March.
Pike Construction has also begun construction on the former Seneca Building, which will be home to Windstream's downtown offices. The company is expected to move in by August 2013.
Construction progress can be monitored through the construction camera on the
Midtown Rising website.
