Rochester, N.Y. - Shantez Hill has already been through one tragedy.
Two weeks ago her baby son died from SIDS.
Then on Saturday night, Rochester Police say someone stole a car from outside a West Main Street convenience store with her 6-year-old son in the backseat.
Police say Jayhvion Owen's father, Philip Owens, went into the store to get a drink.
When Phillip Owens came back out, his car and his son were gone.
The car and boy were found outside a home on Garson Avenue about 30 minutes later.
"It was shocking but I was thankful that he's safe," said the boy's mother Shantez Hill.
The crime was captured on surveillance cameras both inside and outside the store.
Hill said her son doesn't remember anything that happened Saturday night.
"From what I hear he was sleeping so I'm glad...I'm glad because you know that would have been scary for a child to be in a situation like that," Hill said.
Owens was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as a 6 foot tall man wearing camouflage from head to toe.
