Rochester, N.Y. - Friends say when Susan Resch heard about the murders of 10-year-old Noel Parcells and 3-year-old Mia Parcells, it hit close to home for Resch and brought back everything she went through when she lost her only child Hunter.
Hunter was killed by his father in a murder-suicide 18 months ago. The Parcells sisters were murdered Labor Day weekend. Police say they were shot to death by their father, Adam, at a campsite in Lake George.
Friends say Susan Resch reached out to the Parcells to offer emotional support. The Foundation set up to honor her son, The Hunter Resch Foundation, also offered financial support.
Mary Whittier, of the Bivona Child Advocacy Agency says when three families share such a horrific tragedy, they can help each other through the pain, sadness and grief.
Whittier says it's also important that they receive professional counseling to deal with their pain.
She says only these families and others who have lost a child to domestic violence, can know how much it hurts and can help each other find comfort.
