Pedestrian Struck & Killed In Rochester

Rochester, N.Y.- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on East Ridge Road in the city Thursday morning.

Police say the man in his 50s was crossing Seneca Avenue at East Ridge Road when he was hit by a four-door sedan going northbound on Seneca.

The man was pinned beneath the car and was dead when police arrived.

Police and firefighters had to wait for the coroner to arrive and technicians to collect evidence before moving his body.

Police say right before the crash, the victim bent down.

Police do not know yet if the pedestrian had the right of way or if any charges will be filed.

The names of the victim and driver have not been released.
