Penfield, N.Y. - When the Rochester area gets hit with a lot of snow, some people get angry, some grab a shovel, and some just build an igloo.
Especially when their kids request one.
That was the case for Mike Devault of Penfield.
Instead of tacking on a second mortgage with this "house," he got some extra hugs and high fives from his kids.
After all, it was his daughter Audrey's idea.
"She asked for it, and I have a hard time saying no," said Devault.
Devault says he planned on finishing the igloo on Fiddlers Hollow in a weekend, but it ended up taking him a week.
"We were in here last night having hot cocoa. I'm still not sold that it was worth a week, but my kids were laughing and smiling so much," said a grinning Devault, signaling that yes it WAS worth the effort.
Devault was born in Arizona and grew up in California. Perhaps it takes someone who didn't grow up in this town to make nice with ice.
