Pittsford, N.Y. -- Police have a man in custody in connection with a recent assault on the Erie Canal Path. He is possibly tied to three other attacks along the canal path in the last week.
Three days after it was reported that one man was brutally attacked on the canal path at Lock 32, authorities say more victims have come forward.
On October 6th at 4:30 p.m. a man was riding his bicycle near Mitchell Road when he was attacked by another man, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Another person reportedly tried to intervene and was assaulted as well.
October 7th at 6:45, a man walking his dog told police he was approached then assaulted by man on a bike. Two days later, the same suspect is accused of screaming and flailing his arms in an attempt to grab a person. That person was able to ride away on their bike without harm.
Judy Kaplan has been walking and riding through the Lock 32 Path for years, she's unnerved by the attacks, but won't change her ways.
"It's certainly not going to affect our being out to the trail because we think it's a great resource in the community," said Kaplan.
Police are not releasing the suspect's name at this time. More information is expected Friday.
