Pittsford, N.Y. – The Pittsford Board of Education announced Tuesday that Superintendent Mary Price will retire on January 31, 2013.

The Board unanimously named Assistant Superintendent Michael Pero as Superintendent effective February 1, 2013.

“As hard as it is to see Superintendent Price retire, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have Michael Pero as our new Superintendent. He has been with the District for 19 years, is an experienced teacher and administrator, is well respected and understands our culture. This mid-year transition will take advantage of the timing of our budgeting process, building project plans and our strategic plan,” said Board of Education President Kim McClusky.

Price served as superintendent for more than 10 years.
