Rochester, N.Y. - Police agencies across New York State will soon have instant access to your driving records from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

It is part of a new initiative announced Wednesday by Governor Andrew Cuomo.  It will provide law enforcement with a web portal where they can look up information about suspects through online DMV databases.

Police will be able to search for photos of all New York State drivers and non-drivers, as well as vehicle registration information, and driving records.

The new system is supposed to increase government efficiency, and make it easier to identify and arrest suspects.
