Rochester, N.Y. – Police released the name of the man killed Thursday after hitting a bus while riding his motorcycle. Rochester Police say the man was speeding as he went south on Portland Avenue.
At 4:15, witnesses and police say Daniel Morales, 38, lost control of the bike, crossed the double solid line into oncoming traffic and collided with the side of an RTS bus.
Police say the victim became pinned under the driver’s side rear tire.
The bus driver and the passengers on the bus were not hurt.
"(There) wasn't anything the bus driver could do at all. It just happened like that--it was just coming," said Terdaryle Paige, a witness.
Portland was shut down from Jackson Street to Delamaine Drive for several hours.
Police say no charges have been filed against the bus driver.
