Rochester, N.Y.- The local Red Cross received a big gift Friday to help with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The ESL Charitable Foundation handed over a check for $25,000 to the American Red Cross.

Dave Fiedler, CEO of the ESL Charitable Foundation said, "They're everywhere and they're there where the need is and we all have to be a part of the broader community to be able to help the Red Cross do what they do."

John Buttrill, the American Red Cross Regional CEO said the cost of the response to the storm will be in the tens of millions of dollars and he’s extremely appreciative of the donation.
