RG&E To Distribute Dry Ice To Customers Without Power

Rochester, N.Y.- Rochester Gas & Electric will distribute dry ice for customers without power starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

RG&E says people can use the dry ice in their freezers to preserve food. 

They set up two locations:

*195 Mushroom Blvd.                                          6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 31
Henrietta                                                          8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 1 

*West Webster Fire Department Station #3            6 p.m.  to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 31 
880 Plank Road, Penfield                                      8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 1  

RG&E warns dry ice can cause serious burns and frostbite and should never be handled with bare hands. 

Handling and proper usage instructions will be provided at the dry ice distribution pick-up sites.
