If the new gun control laws can help save one life, then they are well worth it. Maybe if those protesting against the new laws had ever lost someone that they love due to gun violence then they would be able to open their eyes and minds and see these laws for what they are meant to be; a deterrent to prevent someone else from having to go through the heart-wrenching pain associated with that experience. I recognize, as I believe anyone with the least bit of common sense would, that they are not a total solution to the problems we face in preventing gun violence, but that they are a much needed step in the right direction. And as far as our Second Amendment Rights go, I don't see the new laws infringing on anyone's right to bear arms, they instead assist in ensuring that they are done so under a common sense approach. Even with these new laws our Country has lessor gun control measures then many of the civilized Nations of the world, all of which experience a much lower level of gun violence. Therefore, any argument that tighter gun control measures do not have a measurable positive impact on lessening gun violence is an ignorant argument.
