Rochester, N.Y. - The Rochester housing market is stabilizing, according to new data from a subsidiary of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors.
Third quarter statistics show that sales, median home prices, and year-over-year values climbed compared to last year.
Sales jumped 7 percent and median home prices increased by 8 percent over the same period in 2011. Year-over-year home values climbed to $133,000 from $123,000.
Genesee, Livingston and Orleans Counties all reported double-digit increases in closings compared to last year's third quarter.
The Greater Rochester Association of Realtors expects this steady growth in year-to-date pending sales and median sale prices to continue into the
fourth quarter.
