Rochester, N.Y.- A man whose home was destroyed by fire over the summer is now charged with insurance fraud.

On August 18, the Rochester Fire Department responded to 12 Jefferson Avenue for a house fire.

Arson investigators say Terrell Levar Murray, 34 of Rochester, is accused of filing a false property loss claim through his renter’s insurance.  Investigators say he received over $13,000 from his insurance company for property he removed from the structure before the fire.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set.

The Arson portion of the investigation is continuing.
