Runners Participate In Rochester Marathon

Rochester, N.Y. – Thousands of runners took part in the Rochester Marathon to benefit the Arthritis Foundation Upstate New York Chapter.

Tara Germano, a runner in the half-marathon said, “We run for people who can’t.”

The race began on the Andrews Street Bridge around 7:30 a.m. and runners ended on Morrie Silver Way between 9:30 a.m. until around noon.

Streets in Rochester were closed as the race took place.

The event included a full marathon and marathon relay race, both are 26.2 miles.  There was also a half-marathon that featured runners in a 13.1 mile race.
