Rochester, N.Y. – People from all over the country participated in the 16th Annual Rochester River Challenge on Saturday.

The event is part of the Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports project.

“It’s an inclusive community activity; that means people with and without disabilities can all be part of our Ohana, our family, and have fun, fitness and friendship on the river,” said Jan Whitaker, president of Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana.

Sgt. Robert Brown said, “It’s one of those healing qualities of water that’s unexplainable, and it’s really good to be able to get out to experience the comradery and what not of other service members, as well as the competitive spirit of just getting out there and giving it your all.”
