Rochester, N.Y. - The heat was on this weekend in Rochester. On Saturday, the official high temperature was 58 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 57 degrees from 1995.

The record high for Sunday was 67 degrees, and that record was broken as sunshine and SW wind pushed temperatures to 69 degrees. This record dates back to 1972.

Sunday's high tied for the third warmest day in the history of January for Rochester.

In January, Rochester has only had two days reaching 70 degrees in the recorded weather history of the city. Those dates were January 21, 1906 when Rochester reached 71 degrees and January 25, 1950 when Rochester had its all-time January high of 74 degrees.
