Rochester, N.Y. -- Students who attend John Walton School #16 in the City of Rochester will be in new buildings when classes start again in the fall.
The school on Post Avenue is set to undergo renovations. The school district says the current gym, science labs, restrooms and other areas of the building are inadequate.
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade will attend classes at the Dr. Freddie Thomas campus on Scio Street. Pre-k students will be moved to Dr. Walter Cooper Academy School #10.
District leaders say they will work with parents to make sure the transition goes smoothly.
