Canandaigua, N.Y. - We now know the names of the victims killed Wednesday's car crash in Canandaigua.

Patsy Garcia, 45, of Canandaigua was driving and Aldolfo Resendiz, 34, Canandaigua, was riding in the passenger's seat.

It happened on Route 21 between Hickox Road and Parrish Street Extension around 2:10 p.m.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Department said Garcia was driving north on Route 21 when she crossed over into the southbound lane and hit a pickup truck hauling a cattle trailer.

According to investigators, Garcia and Resendiz were both ejected from the car, even though both were wearing their seat belts. Both Garcia and Resendiz were pronounced dead at the scene.

Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero said the accident was extremely violent.

"The vehicle is so heavily damaged," he said. "It's really been dismantled, fallen apart and taken apart as a result of this crash."

Canandaigua resident Kenneth Naples, 69, was driving the truck. He spoke to 13WHAM News Wednesday night. Naples said that moments before the accident, he saw Garcia's car leave a lane, and then overcorrect into his lane, and collide with his truck.

Naples suffered minor injuries and was released from F.F. Thompson Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Naples said the force of the impact was so strong that the floor of his truck buckled. He believes the only reason he is alive is because of the size of his truck.

There were no animals inside the trailer Naples was towing. Two dogs were inside Garcia's vehicle. One dog died at the scene, and the other was taken to Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital.
