Rochester, N.Y. - Cars are trapped under a bridge on North Union Street in Rochester due to high waters.

The drivers got out of the vehicles safely.

It was part of a rainy afternoon across the Rochester area. More than two inches of rain fell at the airport, making Tuesday the rainiest day in Rochester in more than six years.

Heavy rains caused major flooding along overpasses, and on local streets. The showers caused flooding along Foxshire Lane in Gates, making travel difficult.

Some made the best of the heavy rains. Instead of driving, people brought out canoes and four-wheelers to enjoy the ponds that formed along streets.

More than 2,000 RG&E customers lost power in the storm.
