Rochester, N.Y.—Family members of Montre Bradley say they feel a sense of relief that police have arrested a man they say was directly involved with the shooting death of the 19-year-old just one week ago.
“I’m excited and sort of relieved that they caught somebody and I’m really hoping they catch the other person so we can get closure,” said Diontaye Thompson, a cousin of Bradley.
19-year-old William Wilkins III was arrested by Gates Police Friday. He faces murder and robbery charges in connection with the death of Bradley. Police say there is one other person that was involved with last Friday’s robbery and shooting outside of a Gates shoe store.
“I’m just hoping that everyone will come forth and we can apprehend everybody that was involved,” said Denise Seymour, Bradley’s aunt.
Friday night, a handful of Bradley’s relatives gathered at the Faith Temple on Lincoln Avenue for a church service.
“It is sort of a relief, but I want everybody to be apprehended because he was a good boy and I love him and I miss him,” said Seymour.
A third person, Travaris Johnson, 27 of Henrietta, was arrested shortly after Bradley was killed. The arrest occurred following a police chase. Johnson is considered a “suspect in this investigation,” according to Gates Police. He has been charged with crimes related to the chase.
