Rochester, N.Y. - Taking a stand against racism.
On Wednesday, the YWCA kicked off a community-wide Stand Against Racism campaign.
The YWCA and its partner groups will reach out to local businesses, schools, houses of worship, and government agencies to encourage conversations about race and take part in this year’s stand on April 26.
Jean Carroll, the President and CEO of the local YWCA said, "You can have a speaker, have a panel, you can sign a pledge against racism, you could do a collage, you could sing a song- whatever it is that you think will help to build awareness that racism still exists in our community and that we need every person, every single person in this community needs to take steps to help to eliminate racism."
