Wayne County, N.Y. - New York State Police are warning about a new phone scam.
Troopers have received complaints from residents in Wayne County who say they have received phone calls asking for donations, from people claiming to be the State Police.
State Police want to remind people that they do not solicit money over the phone.
Anyone who gets one of these calls is asked to contact their local State Police Station.
