Rochester, N.Y. – Firefighters say a Sunday morning house fire in the City is suspicious.
The fire broke out on Lexington Avenue around 4:10 a.m. More firefighters were called to the scene 20 minutes later when the fire spread to the upper floors of the home.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after falling through a staircase.
Five people inside the home were able to get out safely. The Red Cross is providing them with food, clothing and shelter.
Rochester Police were called to the home about 45 minutes before the fire for a reported fight.
Investigators are working to determine what started the fire.
