Rochester, N.Y. - An email sent Friday to state lawmakers threatened violence for politicians, school children, the wealthy and reporters.

The letter,  Titled "Time to Kill," was written anonymously.

"My group is going to do everything possible to provoke terrorist attacks on New York by al-Qaida, and by Tea Party nut cases, and by religious extremeists, lone wolves and anyone else who we can provoke into picking up a gun. We want to create anarchy," states the writer.

Politicians are not the only ones mentioned.

"If we attack a school bus full of kids, it may have no effect on the hardened criminals who rule Albany, but it will put the public in an uproar. Our goal is to create anarchy. You'll have to kill us to stop us," the message continued.

Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R-Canandaigua) was one of the recipients.

"Of course it was very disconcerting. The fact that it's a threatening email not just for the people that work in the legislature but talking of kids on the school bus and other terrorist activities. We can't dismiss any of these types of threats," said Kolb.

The writer concludes that he or she warned a state lawmaker about issues raised several years ago, but does not believe that person listened.

"We're going to get his attention. Come visit my agency. Give me a chance to pull a Gabby Giffords," the message said.

State Police are investigating according to Kolb.

Democratic Assemblyman Harry Bronson said he did not receive this message but is unnerved by what he has learned about it.

"Obviously with our recent shooting in Arizona with the congresswoman, certainly people are sensitive to the issue of violence and protection. But, at the same time, we will be cautious, but we will continue to hold our public events and continue to be with our constituents," said Bronson.
