Rochester, N.Y. - City school Principal Tim Mains may be heading to Albany.
He is one of three finalists being considered for that district's superintendent job.
Mains has been the principal of Helen Barrett Montgomery School No. 50 since 2002.
Mains says, "My passion has been for the past ten years urban education. I left the suburban experience I had for 30 years and specifically came here because I wanted to make a difference for urban kids and I feel like I have done that. Albany gives me a chance to continue doing that at a different level."Mains also served on Rochester's City Council for several years.
The board will make its selection by the end of July.
