Pittsford, N.Y. – Trader Joe’s opened in Pittsford Plaza Friday morning at 8 a.m.

Hundreds made their way to the store to be the first to purchase their specialty retail items. Employees formed a welcome line to greet the store’s first shoppers.

Pittsford Plaza doubled their security in anticipation of the crowds. There were no reports of any issues linked to the large crowds.

Despite its popularity, many shoppers said Trader Joe’s will not replace their regular grocery store; rather, it will be a supplement.

Trader Joe’s has 370 stores across 25 states. This Trader Joe’s is the first in Western New York.
