Canisteo, N.Y. - A father and daughter are accused of stealing than $50,000 from an elderly man's trust fund.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office received a tip from the Department of Social Services Adult Protective unit that money was missing from an elderly man's trust fund.

Investigators said Barbara Freelend, 35, took $50,000 from the victim and her father Dale Freeland, 60, took $1,000 from the same trust fund.

Both were arrested and charged Monday with Grand Larceny.

Barbara Freeland was jailed on $25,000 cash bail.

Dale Freeland was released on his own recognizance.

Investigators said more charges are pending and they are looking into whether more money was stolen.
