Rochester, N.Y. – Nearly fifty years after his plane was shot down, a local airman will be honored.
Air Force Colonel Joseph Christiano will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. today. Col. Christiano had been listed as missing in action since 1965 after his plane was shot down over Laos.
Earlier this year, bone fragments and items found at the crash site were identified as belonging to crew members onboard Col. Christiano’s plane.
The crew will be buried together.
