Rochester, NY -- Redda Johnson moved and realized she had to re-register to vote. She did that at a drive held at the Urban League.

The Agency held a voter registration drive, with the hope of registering 300 voters.

Sammie West also registered to vote. West says he missed the last election and doesn't want to lose out on the chance to vote in the Presidential Election.

Even though voter turnout for Presidential races tends to be as high as 80 percent or more, it is traditionally lower in the city. That's why the Urban League focused on getting more people registered to vote.

The deadline to mail voter registration forms is October 12th. If you cannot vote in person and need an absentee ballot, they are available. The deadline to mail an application for these ballots is October 30th.

The Board Of Elections will send out absentee ballots in the next two weeks.

They encourage voters to fill them out and return them as soon as possible, to make sure they are counted.  They must be postmarked November 5th, to be valid.

Election Day is Tuesday November 6th.
