Webster, N.Y. -- Four men that police say are members of the Iron Horseman Motorcycle Club now face 2nd Degree Gang Assault charges.
Court papers include a statement from the victim who spoke to police while in his hospital bed. The victim, a 40-year-old Webster man, has a broken orbital bone, a broken right hand that’s already required surgery, and he needed seven stitches on his eye lid. He also told police that doctors were concerned about “possible bleeding in my brain.”
“This assault took place for what seemed like over a half hour,” the victim told police. “I didn’t think they were going to stop. I thought I was going to die.”
The attack occurred just before midnight on Thursday February, 14 at Burke’s Bar on South Avenue in the Village of Webster.
A week later Webster Police arrested the four suspects with the help of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Violent Felony Task Force. The U.S. Marshals Violent Felony Task Force is often called upon to deal with what law enforcement call “outlaw biker groups” as weapons are often found or associated with those groups.
In this case the arrests were uneventful. William Heinrich, 45 of Sodus, Dustin Harper, 31 of Lyons, David Orbaker, 47 of Sodus Point, and Douglas Tallent, 57 of Rochester, were all booked into the Monroe County Jail after not guilty pleas were entered at their arraignments.
The victim claims he first encountered a member of the group as he went to the bathroom at Burke’s Bar. Police tell 13WHAM News that video cameras inside the bar captured the encounter.
“I walked towards the bathroom and one of the younger guys stated something to the effect, ‘What do you want to fight’…I told him I didn’t want any trouble and that I just wanted to use the bathroom.”
